York GP says swearing from patients has become the norm
GPs at a local surgery group in York say they have been receiving death threats and abuse from patients over the phone.
One GP recalled a patient saying: "I'll get you in the car park, if you don't do something, I'll get someone to come after you."
Dr Abbie Brooks says, "morale is low, mental health symptoms have been on the rise, they [staff] feel worried coming to work."
The practice has asked patients to manage their expectations and to be kinder to staff over the phone.
