HIA inquiry told of allegations of "sadistic" treatment of children

The Historical Institutional Abuse Inquiry has been told a witness alleged "sadistic" treatment of children by the Sisters of Nazareth at two care homes in Belfast.

The inquiry's barrister, Christine Smith QC, was speaking at the hearing in Banbridge Courthouse, County Down, which is examining abuse claims at Nazareth House and Nazareth Lodge.
