Delays 'not to blame' for food bank rise in Northern Ireland

Research from the Department for Social Development has found that delays in the benefits system is not a major cause for people going to food-banks, as some have claimed.

The department says low income and poor budgeting play bigger roles in a person's need to visit the growing number of food banks.

BBC Newsline's Andy West visited one food bank in Newtownards, County Down, where he spoke one man who says he faces a tough decision between "heat or eat".
