A-level results: 'I couldn't believe my grades'
Following another school year affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, pupils have received grades for A-levels, AS-levels and some BTecs.
Almost 51% of A-level entries were awarded A* or A grades, a record and a rise from about 45% in 2020.
As formal exams were cancelled for a second year due to the coronavirus pandemic, schools calculated the grades to be awarded to pupils.
Mary Montgomery, principal of the Boys' Model School in Belfast, said she was delighted for her pupils and that the procedure for awarding grades was "robust".
