Ainsworth attacks Fox over 'U-turn' on military cuts

Bob Ainsworth has accused Defence Secretary Liam Fox of planning a "huge U-turn" on military cuts.

Speaking to the BBC, the shadow defence secretary said Dr Fox had yet to say "anything of substance" but was "softening us up for cuts he opposed in opposition".

His comments came after Dr Fox has said the Ministry of Defence would be restructured to become "leaner".

He said it had an "unfunded liability" of £37bn over 10 years and accused Labour of irresponsibly ordering goods without the funds to pay for them.
