Caroline Flint and Philip Hammond on postal sell-off

Conservative Transport Secretary Philip Hammond and shadow Communities Secretary Caroline Flint on what should be done with postal services.

The Labour government had plans to sell off a large chunk of the postal service - but scrapped the idea claiming market conditions were not right.

The coalition is pressing ahead with its proposal to privatise 90% of the Royal Mail, and 'mutualise' the Post Office. MP are debating the plans in the House of Commons on Wednesday afternoon.
