Theresa May: 'Cargo plane device could have exploded'

Home Secretary Theresa May has confirmed the explosive device found at East Midlands airport was viable and could have exploded.

The packages found in East Midlands and in Dubai were in printer cartridges being transported by freight aircraft from Yemen to the US.

Mrs May said the overall terrorist threat level to the UK would not be raised, but immediate steps would be taken to tighten security for air freight from Yemen.
