Tuition fees debated at PMQs

The Government has announced some concessions to its plans to raise tuition fees in England. It says the earnings level at which graduates would begin to repay their fees, which it is setting at £21,000, would be raised each year in line with inflation, rather than every five years.

MPs will vote on whether or not to increase fees on Thursday. The Labour leader, Ed Miliband, favours a graduate tax over increased fees.

However, in Prime Minister's Questions, David Cameron said that fees will remain lower in the UK than in they are in the US.
