David Cameron does not rule out April fuel duty rise

The Prime Minister has said he hopes to "share the burden" of high fuel prices, but does not rule out a further duty increase in April.

David Cameron told Andrew Marr he has asked the Treasury to look into the idea of a fuel stabiliser, to "spread the burden" of fuel costs between the Treasury and the motorist, but does not "want to raise people's hopes".

When asked about the planned fuel duty increase in April, Mr Cameron did not say he would rule it out.
