Nick Clegg: 'Edwardian' paternity leave to change

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has outlined plans to press ahead with changes in April to allow couples to share maternity leave.

In a speech, he confirmed that a woman returning to work before the end of her maternity leave can now transfer the remaining entitlement to the father, up to a maximum of six months.

He said the current ''Edwardian'' paternity leave system has no place in modern Britain.
