PM challenged to stand against EU over prisoner votes
Prime Minister David Cameron has been challenged to resist EU pressure to grant UK prisoners the vote.
Conservative MP Priti Patel said: "In view of the public's disdain for those un-elected bureaucrats in Strasbourg, will the prime minister defend our country from any further sanctions from Europe on this particular issue?"
Mr Cameron said: "I have every sympathy with the view that she puts forward, I don't see any reason why prisoners should get the vote."
