David Cameron: 'The more you work, the better off you will be'

The government is promising to make poor people "better off" as it sets out plans to ensure those in work are paid more than the unemployed.

The changes include a "universal credit" and sanctions for those turning down job offers.

Prime Minister David Cameron said the measures ensured it always ''paid to work''.
