Police cuts numbers 'scaremongering' says minister Nick Herbert

Some police cuts numbers being mentioned are "scaremongering" and "exaggerated" says Nick Herbert MP.

The policing minister said he had "avoided setting a figure", but added cuts could be made without affecting front line policing.

An independent review of police pay and conditions in England and Wales has called for the abolition of a series of allowances and special payments. Tom Winsor's report recommends making savings of £60m a year in overtime.
