PM David Cameron: British forces 'in action over Libya'

British Prime Minister David Cameron has confirmed that British forces have taken part in the UN-led mission to end attacks on anti-government demonstrators in Libya.

He spoke after hosting a meeting of the government's emergency management committee Cobra in Downing Street.

Mr Cameron paid tribute to the service men and women involved and said that the action was "necessary, legal and right".
