Osborne: No Occupying Force

The Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne has confirmed that there will be further British participation in enforcing a UN-mandated no-fly zone in Libya, speaking on the Andrew Marr Show.

He admitted that there were "dangers and uncertainties ahead" in Libya, but said there were no plans at the moment for a British occupying force. He also underlined his belief that military operations are in the UK's national interest.
