She spoke to bus company chief engineer Dave Heptinstall, Polly Anna shop owner Paula Jones and Glenn Aitken, the finance director of Neptune Renewable Energy.
The BBC's Budget coverage will come from Westminster, the City and Hull on Wednesday from 1130-1530 GMT on Wednesday, live on BBC Two, the BBC News Channel and online.
