Libya: Is Gaddafi a legitimate target?
As British jets continue their bombing raids over Libya, a difference of opinion has emerged about whether Colonel Gaddafi himself is a target.
The head of the UK's armed forces categorically ruled it out, but soon after, government sources were quick to brief journalists that the Libyan leader is a legitimate target, under the terms of the UN resolution.
As MPs in the House of Commons debated the military objectives of the campaign, the prime minister reiterated the people of Libya have no future with Gaddafi in charge.
James Landale reports.
