Police Federation warns cuts will hit front line
Paul McKeever, chairman of the Police Federation, explains why he thinks police forces in England and Wales cannot cope with 20% cuts without this affecting front line services.
A report from the Chief Inspector of Constabulary report said two thirds of officers were directly involved in protecting the public and enforcing the law - although not all were visible.
He also defended the policing of the cuts protests in London last weekend which saw protesters occupy a department store. Conservative MP Chris Grayling and Labour's Andy Burnham also comment.
