Economist Vicky Pryce: Government panic on growth figures

Vicky Pryce, director of FTI Consulting and former government economist, explains her comments that the government could panic and Britain would perform worse then other countries in terms of growth.

Her comments came as some academics wrote to the Observer describing the "breakneck deficit-reduction plan" as "self-defeating" and the chancellor defended economic policy ahead of an IMF report due out on Monday afternoon.

Former government speech writer Danny Kruger also gave his view.
