MoD 'overly bureaucratic' and 'lacking responsibility'

Liam Fox has vowed to bring budgets "under control" at the Ministry of Defence in an overhaul likely to see a cut in the number of senior officers.

It follows a study by the Chairman of Lloyds of London, Lord Levene.

In a speech to a think tank in London ahead of his address to the Commons, Dr Fox said Lord Levene's review showed the MoD lacked accountability, was too bureaucratic and in deep need of reform.
