Ex-Met chief: Wallis appointment 'embarrassing'

Sir Paul Stephenson has been questioned by MPs about links between the Metropolitan police and a former News International executive, Neil Wallis, who was later employed as a media consultant at Scotland Yard.

Sir Paul said he regretted the "embarrassing" contract with Mr Wallis, but said that at the time, the Met public affairs team needed extra support.
