Keith Vaz: Met Police in 'catalogue of mistakes' over phone-hacking

Home affairs committee chairman Keith Vaz has said the Metropolitan Police committed ''a catalogue of mistakes'' in its phone-hacking inquiry.

He also said MPs were ''very concerned'' that News International had ''deliberately thwarted'' police investigations.

Senior police officers, and James and Rupert Murdoch of News Corporation, have been questioned by parliamentary committees.

Prime Minister David Cameron is due to make a statement to the House of Commons later.
