St Paul's Cathedral protests 'shanty town' says MP

The MP for the St Paul's Cathedral area in central London said the area has become "a Third World shanty town" with protesters and their tents.

Mark Field told Andrew Neil the current situation was an "absolute pantomime" outside the Unesco world heritage site, and the protests could affect services for Remembrance Sunday and the Lord Mayor's Show within the next fortnight.

He spoke as The City of London Corporation announced it was is to take legal action to evict the Occupy London protest camp.
