Government to review law over St Paul's protest camp

The Policing and Criminal Justice Minister Nick Herbert has said that the government is examining whether the law is working effectively in light of the continued protest outside St Paul's Cathedral.

St Paul's held its first Sunday worship since it was forced to close by anti-capitalist protesters.

The Cathedral and City of London officials say they are considering legal action to evict the protesters who set up camp two weeks ago.

Nick Herbert said everyone had the "right to peaceful protest" but the government would consider taking action against invasions of private property that involve "permanent encampments".
