Theresa May: Pilot 'did not risk' border security
Home Secretary Theresa May has been defending her decision to relax immigration controls this summer, and has told MPs it did not put border security at risk.
Three officials have been suspended after fears that some illegal immigrants, suspect criminals, or even potential terrorists entered the UK without proper scrutiny.
In her evidence to the Commons home affairs committee, she said a pilot scheme designed to crack down on "high-risk" passengers was extended without her approval.
