Boris Johnson calls for EU Treaty veto or referendum

David Cameron is coming under increasing pressure from his own party to veto any new EU Treaty.

The prime minister told MPs he would protect the UK national interest and said "the more eurozone countries ask for, the more we will ask for in return", including safeguards about the financial sector.

The Mayor of London Boris Johnson told the BBC that the prime minister should either veto any treaty changes which would lead to fiscal union within the eurozone or hold a referendum.
