Hague dismisses risk of UK isolation from Europe

The Foreign Secretary William Hague has dismissed the risk of a two-tier Europe, following David Cameron's decision to veto an EU-wide treaty change to save the euro.

He insisted Britain was retaining its sovereignty without the spectre of isolation.

Mr Hague also told Nick Robinson that David Cameron's decision at the critical summit in Brussels on Thursday night would increase respect for Britain among European leaders, since it was standing up for its national interests.
