MP: Liberal Democrats must 'undergo review'
The tone of this Liberal Democrat conference is very different from those in the past.
Rather than furious debates about radical policies which would never see the light of day in government, there is a more sombre mood, reflecting the economic crisis and the party's own problems in the polls.
Lib Dem MP Adrian Sanders told The World At One: "The thing that has surprised everybody is that the economy has not come right, so I think we have to undergo a review of what we can and can't do over the next two-and-a-half years and cut our cloth accordingly."
Martha Kearney has been talking to people at one of the conference's more colourful stalls which has a giant book in which people are invited to write their favourite titles from childhood.
It is run by the National Union of Teachers led by Max Hyde. Martha began by asking her which books people had been picking.
