BBC DG George Entwistle on Savile: Steve Hewlett reaction
The BBC director general sounded "under-informed" when he appeared before MPs to answer questions about Jimmy Savile, an ex-Panorama editor said.
Steve Hewlett claimed there had been "no killer blow struck by anyone on the committee" but George Entwistle appeared not to know enough to answer questions about the shelved BBC Newsnight investigation into Jimmy Savile.
The media commentator said the newly appointed director general appeared to have been "on the backfoot from the start".
