Patrick McLoughlin on road, rail and airport plans
The transport secretary dismissed the UKIP threat to the Conservative Party, saying it had yet to compare to the electoral success of the SDP in the 1980s which had by-election successes.
Patrick McLoughlin spoke to Andrew Neil about government plans for runways in southern England, saying Conservatives would stick to a manifesto commitment over no third Heathrow runway, as they debated how long that pledge would last after the 2015 election.
They also spoke about the future of the HS2 rail plan, and when previously-announced road schemes would be started and completed.
