John Whittingdale criticises 'bloated' BBC

The Chairman of the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee John Whittingdale has criticised the BBC Trust's response to a report which said the £450,000 paid to Mr Entwistle was out of line with public expectation.

BBC Trust chairman Lord Patten said the criticisms made by the Commons Public Accounts Committee were "unfair and shabby".

John Whittingdale, speaking to Emily Matlis, said the BBC was "bloated with too many managers."
