Eric Pickles on new house building figures in England

More homes will be built in England in 2013 than last year, the communities secretary has said.

Eric Pickles told Andrew Neil that last year's figure of about 132,000 homes was "nowhere near adequate", but said that house building was already up by 11%.

Later in the interview they spoke about immigration from Romania and Bulgaria, and Mr Pickles revealed that wheelie bin fines in England would be scrapped.
