Labour MEP Richard Howitt: 'Europe uncertainty a nightmare'

British Prime Minister David Cameron's has promised to hold a referendum on whether Britain should remain in the EU if his Conservative party wins the next general election.

Speaking in central London on Wednesday morning, Mr Cameron said his government would re-negotiate our EU membership to create a flexible, adaptable and more open relationship, and put it to vote within the next five years.

Labour MEP Richard Howitt has described the uncertainty of the situation as "a nightmare for Britain".
