MPs and comedy - a match made in Heaven?

Westminster has always provided fertile ground for satirists, with modern television comedies continuing the tradition of lampooning politicians as either bumbling or corrupt.

Two MPs with a good sense of humour and a thick skin reviewed the BBC's latest political comedy, "Bob Servant Independent", for the Week in Parliament.

Bob Servant, played by Brian Cox, is a pompous local businessman running for office in a by-election in Dundee. In the first episode Bob launches his campaign and speaks his mind on a radio phone-in, with disastrous results.

SNP MP Pete Wishart and Labour's Andy Love told Keith Macdougall that they identified with Bob Servant's predicament as he tried to recover from his gaffe-strewn radio appearance.
