George Galloway MP on Mali, Syria and Arab politics

George Galloway said the difference between him and the government was that he had been calling for an Arab Spring for 35 years.

The Respect MP called for Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad to go, and for democracy in Syria, Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries, but said it would not be achieved by bombing.

He said the French were the "last people" who should be involved in Mali, and that Britain should stay out as there were was no threat to the UK, adding: "When terrible things start happening, don't say you weren't warned."

He spoke to Andrew Neil after his exchange at PMQs with David Cameron on Wednesday led viewers to complain that his question about intervening in north Africa had not been answered.
