David Cameron says EU budget cut 'good for Britain'

David Cameron has hailed a reduction in the EU budget for 2014-20 as a "good deal for Britain".

The new budget amounts to 908bn euros (£768bn; $1.2tn) in forecast payments and was finalised after 24 hours of negotiations.

Mr Cameron said: "I think the British public can be proud that we've cut the seven year credit card limit for the European Union for the first time ever."
