Thatcher statue: Conservatives reject Grantham plan
Labour has backed plans for a statue to Baroness Thatcher in her home town of Grantham, but Conservatives think their opponents are playing politics and voted against the plan.
Tory councillor Ray Wootten said there were confidential plans to honour the former prime minister in the Lincolnshire town, as he explained why his party on South Kesteven District Council was not backing the statue plan.
Grantham only has a small plaque on her father's grocer's shop and a small display in the town museum.
