Preston bus station landmark to be spared demolition?

Preston bus station is threatened with demolition, but campaigner John Wilson put the case for saving the 1969 "unique and iconic" structure from the wrecker's ball.

Councillors have suggested pulling it down in a redevelopment scheme as refurbishing the building could cost £23m.

The World Monuments Fund added the Lancashire landmark, along with 67 heritage sites across the globe, to its list of treasured places at risk.
