Business Secretary Vince Cable queries borrowing restraint
Prime Minister David Cameron will insist in a speech on Thursday that the government is sticking to its economic plans because there are signs they are beginning to work.
However Business Secretary Vince Cable has made his strongest call yet for a change of course.
In a magazine article, he suggests a significant increase in spending on infrastructure, paid for by more borrowing.
Vince Cable described it as "Plan A Plus." He said this meant financial discipline, getting down the deficit and pursuing growth.
