David Miliband: Peter Mandelson predicts political comeback

David Miliband still has a future in politics, Peter Mandelson has suggested, after it was revealed that the former foreign secretary is to resign as an MP.

Mr Miliband, 47, is to leave his South Shields constituency to take up a role in New York, as chief executive of the International Rescue Committee.

Lord Mandelson told The World Tonight that he knew "a little bit about comebacks in politics" and that "if I can come back [then] David Miliband can come back - and I think he will."
