The number of homes for rent and purchase have become unaffordable for many and the construction industry is in need of a boost.
The government is trying to get builders building but the Campaign to Protect Rural England says these efforts could put green fields and rural spaces at risk.
CPRE president and former Poet Laureate Andrew Motion climbs on a soapbox to claim these homes can be built while protecting green areas as he spoke up for England's "beautiful precious irreplaceable countryside".
