PMQs: Cameron and Miliband on NHS waits and spending

The prime minister was failing to meet his own targets for the NHS, and people were being left waiting on trolleys in casualty for up to 12 hours, claimed the Labour leader.

Ed Miliband claimed "A&E was the barometer of the NHS" and that "hospitals were full to bursting".

David Cameron attacked Labour's record on running the NHS in Wales, and he said the NHS overall was dealing with one million more people.

He said Mr Miliband said was in "complete denial" over Labour's health spending plans and A&E attendance figures were met last year.

The health records and spending figures of the past and previous governments dominated the exchanges at the first PMQs for several weeks.
