MP calls for pricing and food information for shoppers
Consumers must have more rights and better information about food and other products before they decide what to buy, an MP claims.
Laura Sandys reckons shoppers are left out of pocket by some pricing where they face inflation through changes to packaging, substitute products and strange promotions. She claimed it was "time the consumer had the truth".
The MP reckoned few people would know what a kilowatt hour was, and she called for penalties for companies that mislead consumers.
