Farage: Scottish nationalism 'pretty ugly'
The UKIP leader Nigel Farage has described protestors who disrupted his party's news conference in Edinburgh yesterday as "fascist scum".
Mr Farage needed a police escort to escape a pub after he was heckled by an angry crowd.
Speaking to the Today programme's Sarah Montague said that he stood by what he had called the protesters and that "if this is the face of Scottish nationalism, it's pretty ugly".
"There are some elements of Scottish nationalism and the SNP that are deeply unpleasant," he added.
First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Friday 17 May 2013.
