Lord Brian MacKenzie of Framwellgate: 'I am very clear on the rules'

Lord Brian MacKenzie of Framwellgate has emphatically denied trying to influence events in Parliament, on behalf of a fake company, set up by undercover journalists which approached him.

Three members of the House of Lords have now become embroiled in the lobbying scandal.

They were filmed apparently agreeing to put down amendments or set-up an all-party parliamentary group to further the interests of the fictitious solar energy company in return for payment.

The Sunday Times approached the Labour peers, Lord Cunningham and Lord Mackenzie, and the Ulster Unionist, Lord Laird.

They all deny wrongdoing. Lord Brian Mackenzie told Radio 5 Live's Sam Walker there is a big difference between agreeing to that request, and being paid to ask questions in Parliament.
