Balls warns against payday loans 'blank cheque'

Jobseekers will to have wait seven days before first claiming Jobseeker's Allowance and may have to sign on every week, under new government plans.

Shadow chancellor Ed Balls said that Labour would support the change from three to seven days "if it can be done in a sensible way".

"If it is a blank cheque to payday loan companies, that would be a bad thing," he said.
