'Labour membership has increased' - Rachel Reeves

Labour Party membership is increasing despite moves by Ed Miliband to change trade union affiliation, the shadow chief treasury secretary has said.

Rachel Reeves was speaking after the GMB union announced it is to cut the affiliation funds it gives Labour from £1.2m to £150,000 from 2014.

Mr Miliband plans to end automatic affiliation with the party by trade union members, requiring them to opt in to support the party.
