Assad 'will continue to slaughter' says Tory MP Newmark
President Assad "will continue to try and slaughter his people into submission, with or without chemical weapons" said a MP who has just returned from the Syrian border.
Brooks Newmark said the Syrian government should be given every opportunity to give up its weapons, but he thought the president would use the Russian intervention as a delaying tactic.
The Conservative MP said the Syrian leader, and his brother, should be brought before the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
