Cridland on Labour's economic plans and minimum wage

Ed Miliband's plans for the economy were a "real setback for Labour's pro-enterprise credentials" said the director-general of the CBI.

John Cridland said it was "not one particular thing" in the Labour leader's speech to his conference on Tuesday, but the sum of them all together that would alarm business people.

He spoke to Jo Coburn on the Daily Politics about the minimum wage and said: "Employers pay what they can afford to pay, depending on the income they get from the consumers."

He asked if the public wanted the government to control wages, prices, and property prices.
