Northern cities' help: Daniel Knowles and Lord Prescott

Labour gave the larger cities of England "the powers and the resources" to grow said former Deputy Prime Minister Lord Prescott.

But The Economist's Daniel Knowles argued the former Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) were "not a great success", as the pair debated helping, or even abandoning, some industrial towns and cities which are struggling today.

They discussed the issues with Andrew Neil after watching a Daily Politics film about how Liverpool was previously transformed, and why Hull is angry over Mr Knowles' Economist article.
